1.   Microsoft this week entered the Internet server business by giving away its software.

2.   Amdahl has recently carved out a profitable niche in the computer services and server business the past few years after making its name selling inexpensive clones of IBM mainframes.

3.   By striking a simple agreement to work together, the executives figured, they could both be leaders in the server business.
