1.   Scrape out the seed cavity and peel the pumpkin.

2.   Strain the juice in the seed cavities and reserve, discarding seeds.

3.   They do have a substantial seed cavity, which can be hollowed out and stuffed with something like sausage and rice to make a main course.

4.   To scrape out the seeds, run a teaspoon down the seed cavity in each half.

5.   A whole apple would collapse into its center seed cavity, for example, but sliced apple would come out fine.
