1.   They say Russian aerial and artillery attacks continue on villages and rebel strongholds.

2.   However, Chechen separatist forces have put up a fierce resistance and intense Russian aerial and artillery bombardments have reduced much of Grozny to rubble.

3.   But even that is constantly violated, by Chechen hit-and-run attacks on Russian posts and Russian aerial bombing of the rebel-held villages in southeastern Chechnya.

4.   Meanwhile, further south, Russian aerial and artillery bombing continued around the clock.
