1.   On Thursday, the central Independence Square was just a flat, desolate plain, littered with empty rocket casings, bullets, and gravel.

2.   The nozzle seal damage was detected when the rocket casings were examined after the last two missions, in June and earlier this month.

3.   Empty rocket casings littered the ground.

4.   A large Koran, a few documents and pictures, as well as a tea urn, lay under the rubble alongside twisted furniture and pieces of rocket casing.

5.   Children scampered over the ruins of the village school, waving rebel flags emblazoned with the Chechen wolf symbol and playing with rocket casings and other debris of war.
