1.   The southern state of Bavaria requires all applicants for civil-service jobs to reveal whether they are Scientologists.

2.   -- Makes proof of a discrimination claim against a potential employer more difficult by requiring job applicant to show that the employer purposefully intended to break anti-discrimination laws.

3.   That process requires the applicant to provide the city with his or medical records, proof of income and identity and other personal information.

4.   The contest required applicants to write a letter they would liked to have received during their illness.

5.   But the law governing the Truth Commission requires amnesty applicants to cite specific crimes for which pardon is being sought.

6.   The state last October began requiring welfare applicants in a handful of Michigan communities to provide urine samples for drug screening before they could be considered for benefits.
