1.   Civil rights protestors called for an end to all segregation.

2.   An estimated two thousand protestors called for the end to what they called the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territory and Israeli aggression againt the Palestinian people.

3.   The protestors were calling for the resignation of President Leonid Kuchma.

4.   Public transportation was paralyzed and police clashed with demonstrators Thursday in nationwide rallies against high food prices and what protestors called government repression.

5.   The protestors also called on the Malaysian Government to initiate an urgent meeting of the United Nations General Assembly to condemn the Anglo-American stance.

6.   The protestors called for international recognition of the KLA and also demanded the deployment of NATO troops within Kosovo.

7.   A spokesman for the German public services and transport union said the protestors were calling for a social plan to compensate for job losses.

8.   Amid echoing chants and pro-democracy slogans, protestors called for the release of prisoners incarcerated during the SLORC era and the establishment of a student union.

9.   The protestors have been calling for an investigation into the actions of police in March, who they accuse of firing on unarmed demonstrators.

10.   The protestors called on Education Minister Sofija Todorova to resign.
