1.   If a nominee is rejected three times, the president can dissolve Parliament.

2.   If Duma members rejected the nominee three times, the president can dissolve the parliament and call for new elections.

3.   If it does so three times, then the president must dissolve it, forcing early elections.

4.   If rejected on a third vote, the president must dissolve the Duma and call new parliamentary elections within three months.

5.   If the Duma again rejects Chernomyrdin, or any other candidate proposed by Yeltsin, the president must dissolve the chamber and call an early parliamentary election.

6.   The constitution says that after hearing the opinion of the presidents of the two branches of parliament, the president can dissolve parliament.

7.   The president can dissolve the Duma only if his candidate is refused three times.

8.   The president may not dissolve the body in the first year of its term, though.

9.   Also on Saturday, federal president dissolved the Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly.

10.   And the whole matter could be moot if the president ultimately dissolves parliament and calls for new elections, as many observers think he will do.
