1.   Examine areas like sills, door frames, porch columns and deck boards where water can collect.

2.   Make sure that rainwater does not collect on wsills, porch columns or decks.

3.   My strategy worked until the next day, when I saw the beginnings of another nest on the next porch column.

4.   Remember to caulk around faucets, porch columns and any joints where dissimilar building materials meet.
