1. A leviathan of the seas, that cruise ship is said to be the largest passenger vessel afloat. 2. And since military fighting ships are vastly different in design from commercial passenger vessels, enhanced production of the latter might not be the best course to military readiness. 3. And the Cuban government is building an expanded port that can handle passenger vessels from all over the world. 4. As it stands, the law requires that passenger vessels operating between U.S. ports must be American made, American manned and fly the American flag. 5. Even passenger cruise vessels ply the St. Lawrence past Quebec City to Montreal in summer and fall. 6. For rulemaking purposes, the Coast Guard has segregated these from the other passenger vessels because of the larger numbers of people they carry. 7. Most passenger vessels operating in the United States today conform to such exacting standards that they are unlikely to sink or incinerate. 8. Rules may yet be written governing access for the disabled aboard passenger vessels that visit the United States. 9. The Coast Guard has long required all passenger vessels to carry enough life jackets for everyone on board. 10. The three boats, evocative of the days of gamblers and saloon girls, are the only full-sized overnight passenger vessels flying the American flag. |
