1.   Arctic air will continue its hiatus across the contiguous states Saturday as Pacific air streams eastward across the nation.

2.   Another offshore disturbance will deliver moist Pacific air to parts of the West Coast, prompting coastal showers from central California northward.

3.   Arctic air will not retreat across northern Washington, despite Pacific air rushing inland around a low-pressure system near the border with British Columbia.

4.   As moist Pacific air is forced to rise by the sloping terrain, heavy rain and heavy mountain snow will result.

5.   As the moist Pacific air impedes the higher elevations, locally heavy snow will occur in the mountains of Montana, Wyoming and western Colorado.

6.   As the Pacific air rises and cools, heavy snow will fall inland over the higher elevations of the Cascades mountains Sunday night.

7.   Bitter chill has retreated from much of the United States, allowing milder Pacific air to envelop moist of the Plains and Western states.

8.   A flow of mild Pacific air will continue to erode the very cold air mass over the northern parts of the Plains and Mississippi Valley.

9.   A large fair weather system, crested over Wyoming, will circulate Pacific air into this region with ample sunshine and an active afternoon breeze.

10.   A push of Pacific air into the central Rockies will trigger numerous showers and a few thunderstorms from Montana to eastern Nevada.
