1.   As may well be imagined, there is little room within such conventions for anything approaching overt eroticism.

2.   It flows partly from the overt eroticism of the spectacle on stage, and also from the amorous state of anticipation emanating from the other side of the footlights.

3.   The stage gets pretty hot by theater standards with some ambiguous but quite Victorian frolicking between the two female leads and the more overt eroticism of the vampire.

4.   Too overt an eroticism would make the characters too physically real, would be at odds with the piece, with its poetic and disembodied words.
