1.   Baking is done directly on the oven floor.

2.   In a gas oven, position the tiles or stone directly on the oven floor.

3.   Place aluminum foil on the oven floor to catch drips.

4.   The sides of the pan prevent the nuts from slipping onto the oven floor when you put the pan in and take it out of the oven.
