1.   The Cincinnati Reds assigned catcher Matt Walbeck to their minor league camp and optioned infielder Brandon Larson to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday.

2.   The Detroit Tigers recalled right-hander Victor Santos from Triple-A Toledo on Wednesday and optioned infielder Jarrod Patterson to the Mud Hens.

3.   The Cubs recalled the outfielder from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday morning and optioned infielder Julio Zuleta.

4.   The Pirates also designated outfielder Emil Brown for assignment to the minors and optioned infielder Luis Figueroa to Triple-A Nashville.

5.   The Red Sox also recalled left-handed pitcher Tim Young from Triple-A Pawtucket and optioned infielder Wilton Veras to Pawtucket.
