1.   Ideally, all tiles should be taken up and relaid with new adhesive.

2.   In some cases new adhesives may react with the old glue causing both layers to come undone.

3.   NASA replaced the boosters after tracing the cause to the use of a new adhesive and solvent in the assembly of the powerful rockets.

4.   The new adhesive is slightly weaker in its tensile strength, weakening the resulting bond.

5.   Use a putty knife to insert new adhesive through the slit, then press the blister flat.
