1.   The video and disk controllers and network interfaces have been integrated directly on to the motherboard.

2.   Even network interfaces are changing.

3.   If you are outfitting a new office with computers, buy them with network interface cards already installed.

4.   In new-home developments, do what I did and check the outside telephone box, or network interface, on your house.

5.   The network interface may or may not be included in the package, as this may be provided by the telecom carrier in many cases.
