2.   Adair grew up in New Mexico, where his father, John, an anthropologist, studied the Navajo people.

3.   Alarmed, traditionalists pointed to stories in Navajo lore about evil people who have been banished to space so they could do no harm to the Navajo people.

4.   Evidence of the dinosaur does not surprise older traditional Navajo people, some of whom still herd sheep in the area.
