Superficiality, slack and excessive reliance on picture-postcard visuals undercut what could have been a much more affecting mix of camaraderie and idealism. 9. The lack of artifice makes them more affecting. 10. Yet underneath this competent mystery-adventure lies a richer, more affecting coming-of-age story. |
