1.   The measure now goes to the House of Delegates, which voted to repeal the song in the past.

2.   The measure went nowhere in the House, where some Hispanic lawmakers feared it would not increase the number of Hispanic judges.

3.   And when the measure goes to hearings Thursday before the joint Tax Committee, it will face no more than token opposition.

4.   And while they enthusiastically support the Republican call for an overhaul of the welfare system, many said they thought that the House measure went too far.

5.   Before the measure could even go into effect, though, U.S. District Court Judge Claudia Wilken issued a temporary restraining order.

6.   Both sides will square off this fall when competing ballot measures go before voters.

7.   Blute and Torkildsen said they are looking to the Senate, where the measure goes next, to restore funding for home energy assistance and for other programs.

8.   A spokesman for the governor said the measure goes too far and invites lawsuits.

9.   After final passage, the measure will go to the president, who has promised his veto.

10.   All four measures now go to Gov. George Pataki, who has said he will sign them into law.
