1.   The proposed specification for the level II qualification is based on core skill and other mandatory modules.

2.   Four further mandatory modules cover learning and information skills, and provide an introduction to literature and social sciences.

3.   Candidates will also take three mandatory modules dealing with design skills, and a choice of two modules from an extensive list of optional modules.

4.   Four further mandatory modules must be taken.

5.   Candidates must also take seven further mandatory modules.

6.   The other mandatory modules cover hardware, software and information systems.

7.   Three further mandatory module credits must be taken.

8.   Two further mandatory modules are taken, covering mathematics and experimental procedures.
