1.   Joey DiGiamarino sent a looping cross in the Galaxy box for Jorge Dely Valdes, who was watched closely by Greg Vanney.

2.   Dani Carvalho outpaced his marker down the right and hit a looping cross into the area where Pinto, falling backwards, lobbed his header over the keeper.

3.   Nine minutes later the Argentine sent a looping cross and Vieri beat Roma defender Walter Samuel to the ball for a header that hit the crossbar.

4.   Alfredo Aglietti notched the winner in the second minute, latching on to a looping cross after midfielder Francesco Turrini broke clear down the right flank.
