1.   The development of gap junctions in the human gastric mucosa has been examined to see if there is any relation to gastric ulcer.

2.   These findings support our own observations and it would be of interest to use immunohistochemistry to examine for the presence of other cytokines in the normal human mucosa.

3.   In addition, evidence has been provided for an active transport mechanism in the human intestinal mucosa.

4.   In this study, two immunocytochemical methods that measure different components of the cell cycle were compared to assess cell proliferation on biopsy samples from human colonic mucosa.

5.   We investigated the total phospholipid composition of human gastric mucosa from endoscopic biopsy specimens in patients with peptic ulcer disease or gastritis, and in normal subjects.

6.   Our data describe a technique which has allowed detailed study of the proliferation compartment of human gastric mucosa, about which little has been published.

7.   The results of this study show that in normal human intestinal mucosa PAF activity is generated by both epithalial cells and lamina propria mononuclear cells.
