1.   At Detrick, construction crews built a hollow metal sphere four stories high.

2.   Embryonic stem cells are taken from the embryo at a stage when it is a hollow sphere consisting of a thousand or so cells.

3.   In an inertial confinement reactor, the mixture of deuterium and tritium fuel is encapsulated as a thin frozen coating on the inside of tiny plastic hollow spheres.

4.   The compression is achieved by bombarding tiny hollow spheres with powerful laser beams, vaporizing and imploding them, thereby compressing the hydrogen sealed within their hollow cavities.

5.   The embryo, a hollow sphere of cells a few days old, is destroyed in the process.
