1. Heat a wok or a heavy skillet over high heat. 2. In a large heavy bottomed skillet, heat olive oil over medium high heat. 3. Melt butter in heavy skillet or casserole large enough to hold potatoes in one layer. 4. To make spicy pecans, melt butter in a heavy skillet. 5. Beyond that, only basics such as a chopping board, knives, and a wok or heavy skillet and saucepans are needed. 6. - Saute or caramelize onions, garlic and other aromatic vegetables using very little fat in a heavy nonstick skillet. 7. Add enough olive oil to a heavy cast-iron skillet to coat the bottom. 8. Brown sausage in a heavy skillet. 9. Brown the bacon in a heavy skillet over medium-low heat, cooking it slowly to render the fat and crisp it up a bit. 10. Clean the mushrooms, chop them and dry-roast in a cast-iron or other heavy skillet. |
