1.   The air was thin and crisp, filled with hazy sunshine and frost.

7.   A few strong thunderstorms will occur to the west of the crest of the Appalachians, especially where some hazy sunshine adds fuel to the sultry air mass.

8.   A gray morning yielded to hazy high sunshine by late afternoon.

9.   Across the Southeast, hazy sunshine will be interrupted by a drenching afternoon thunderstorm.

10.   After morning low clouds lift, much of the Northeast coast will have hazy sunshine with isolated thundershowers.
