1.   Dangerous glaze conditions will persist for much of the day, particularly in valley where cold, dense air remains trapped.

2.   Freezing rain occurs when snow melts into raindrops and re-freezes in a shallow layer of cold air near the ground, creating a glaze condition.

3.   Glaze conditions will develop in parts of eastern Washington and Oregon as cold air remains trapped in some of the deeper valleys.

4.   Glaze conditions will make travel treacherous in places, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

5.   If a shallow layer of subfreezing air is present at the surface, the raindrop freezes on contact, producing the glaze condition called freezing rain.

7.   The rain will freeze on contact with cold surfaces causing glaze conditions over from central New Hampshire to interior southern Maine.
