At Baltimore, rookie Octavio Dotel pitched seven innings of three-hit ball and the streaking New York Mets got homers from Edgardo Alfonzo and Robin Ventura. 9. At Tucson, Ariz., Armando Reynoso pitched four scoreless innings and Arizona got homers from Erubiel Durazo, David Dellucci, Jack Cust and Melvin Rosario. 10. Boston, its lineup and rotation ravaged by injuries, including one to ace Pedro Martinez, got homers from rookie Izzy Alcantara and Scott Hatteberg. |
