1.   One after another, people described how hard it is for them to get medical care.

2.   The government is developing innovative strategies to help people without insurance get medical care.

3.   All too often they get no care until a crisis sends them to a hospital emergency room.

4.   Americans elsewhere need Congress to enact basic protections to insure that patients get the care they need.

5.   An abundance of hospital beds also may lead to patients getting more care than they need.

6.   And Medicaid patients would sit side by side with lawyers and professors, getting care from the same providers serving large HMOs.

7.   And once the disease is diagnosed, African-American women are more likely than whites to get inadequate care for their breast cancers, a National Cancer Institute study shows.

8.   And many of those who are critically ill are absolutely not getting the care they need.

9.   And that means they end up not getting the care that could ease their pain.

10.   Another reason is that sicker, more expensive patients are getting home care.
