1.   Phil Gramm, R-Tex., urged his colleagues to cut the gas tax in order to help low-income families, Sen.

2.   Sam Nunn said Thursday that he will support a minimum wage increase and oppose a repeal of the gas tax.

3.   The courageous thing for Clinton to do would be to veto the repeal of the gas tax.

4.   A temporary suspension of the gas tax was just a crowd-pleasing juggle that was not a long-term solution to the energy problem.

5.   And everyone may be faced with new measures to discourage driving, such as higher gas taxes.

6.   And no gas guzzler tax goes with this model.

7.   And over the last six years, distribution of federal funds, siphoned from gas taxes, has helped to ease life for bicyclists and pedestrians.
