2.   Similarly, fungal diseases show characteristic effects that reveal both presence and identity.

3.   Spraying is necessary, particularly against fungal diseases, to have a Decent harvest of nice-looking fruit every year.

5.   Some plants already possess genetic resistance to attacks by insect pests while others resist certain fungal diseases.

7.   A new variety of banana has been developed in Honduras which is more resistant to fungal diseases, reducing the need for spraying with fungicides.

8.   But other fungal diseases can result in these symptoms, so diagnosis can be tricky.
