1.   Forsythia is the first spring flower on the forcing list, and because it is a rampant grower, you will not damage the plants if you cut judiciously.

2.   Many gardeners in colder northern climates start when the forsythia are in bloom.

3.   Plant early, when the forsythia is in bloom.

4.   The rest of the year, forsythia is at best a humdrum bush, green but otherwise nondescript.
