1.   The Passaic and its tributaries were expected to reach flood peak Sunday night or early Monday morning.

2.   A flood peak rolled through this port city along the swollen Yangtze River early Tuesday, threatening to burst dikes sodden by more than a month of flooding.

3.   A powerful Yangtze River flood peak passed through the major industrial city of Wuhan without incident Monday, but the misery of serious flooding continued elsewhere in central China.

8.   The newspaper did not say whether the breaches caused any casualties or damage but said they did take some of the force out of the flood peak.
