1.   Saudi Arabia punishes foreigners who drink, eat or smoke in public during fasting hours with deportation.

2.   Saudi Arabia warned non-Muslims Saturday not to eat, drink or smoke in public during the fasting hours of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

3.   Throughout most of the region, alcohol sales are severely curtailed and restaurants must remain closed during fasting hours.

4.   The ministry can close down restaurants and food shops which remain open during fasting hours, from dawn to sundown.
