1. Check your own skin for any new moles, or any changes in size, shape or color of existing moles at least every three months. 2. It usually occurs in or near an existing mole or other dark spot on the skin. 3. Melanoma may develop in an existing mole or sprout on previously unblemished skin. 4. Melanoma often develops in an existing mole of any size. 5. You should also see a dermatologist if you notice any change in an existing mole or if you find skin changes symptomatic of cancer. |
