1.   This was demonstrated by the absence of any correlation between the severity of the gastritis or epithelial surface damage and the bacterial ammonia production.

2.   Chronic duodenitis -- in the presence of mucosal mononuclear cell infiltration and epithelial damage.

3.   These bacterial factors seemed related to the conditions of epithelial damage.

4.   In particular, the second H pylori pattern seems only related to the second and third patterns of contact, which are characterised by evident epithelial damage.
