And though economists predict US growth is expected to slow, interest rate cuts by the Federal Reserve, copied by European central banks, also reassured financial markets. 8. As it is, most economists are still predicting a recession for Mexico as a result of the crisis. 9. As a result, many economists predict the Fed will lower rates soon to prevent the economy from sliding into recession. 10.
