And being on the east slopes, sunshine is as regular in the Methow as storm clouds are on the coast. 3. Ample sunshine will bathe a large area from the Southwestern States to the east slopes of the Rockies and northern Plains. 4. Ample sunshine will return to the Piedmont areas of the Southeast as gusty winds from the west descend the east slopes of the Appalachians. 5. Another dull, damp and cold day is expected along the east slopes of the Rockies as winds from the east ascend the high Plains. 6. Areas of low clouds will linger near a front from the southern Missouri Valley to east slopes of the northern Rockies. 7. As more humid air ascends the east slopes of the central Appalachians, drizzle and light rain will develop. 8. As onshore winds ascend the east slopes of the Appalachians, fog and drizzle will develop. 9. A broken band of light snow and flurries will occur where moist winds ascend the sloping terrain near the east slopes of the northern Rockies. 10. A cold front trailing to the north and west will direct flow up the east slopes of the northern Rockies, causing more numerous showers and thundershowers. |
