1.   Beat egg with a fork and stir into dough mixture.

2.   Place dough mixture into a Bundt pan that has been lightly coated with nonstick vegetable spray.

3.   Spread remaining dough mixture over dates.

4.   To extend it so it could feed the whole family a couple of times, the cook then added a dough mixture and called it dumplings.
