1.   Most drives retract their recording heads when you power them down, but a good jolt might send one of them clanging into the disk surface.

2.   The circuit boards were completely melted but it looked like portions of the disk surface were salvageable.

3.   Their drive heads do not actually touch the spinning disk surface, unlike the heads on a conventional floppy or Superdisk.

4.   This increase has come about through improvements to magnetic heads, disk surfaces and the mathematical codes that govern the drives.
