1.   Deciduous shrubs, shrubs that lose their leaves in the fall, tend to have bigger, softer leaves.

2.   I compromised and placed it as an underskirt in a border filled with dwarf deciduous shrubs.

3.   The horticulturist suggest pruning off unwanted branches to keep deciduous shrubs in shape.

4.   Then, position deciduous shrubs for contrast.

5.   The deciduous shrubs below the treeline were identified as dwarf birch, willow and green alder.
