1.   Western countries enjoyed considerable advantages in terms of technology.

2.   It would appear, then, that in an exchange rate union member countries enjoy a higher degree of monetary autonomy than in a currency union.

3.   In brief, then, EC countries currently enjoy only a limited degree of monetary autonomy and this applies only to the very short run.

4.   As a result all countries are still enjoying huge trade surpluses.

5.   As the country has enjoyed among the highest standards of living in Europe, Germans have also insisted more and more on extending their leisure time.

6.   Both countries have enjoyed a special relationship, the result of a large Japanese immigrant population in Brazil.

7.   Both countries enjoy the benefit of the North American Free Trade Agreement, but there is even more potential for commerce.

8.   But no country enjoys being under military surveillance.

9.   By becoming a permanent trading partner, China would be guaranteed the same low-tariff access to American markets that nearly every other country enjoys now.

10.   China wants to join the global trade body to gain access to the same low tariffs other WTO countries enjoy.
