1.   On his admission to a policeman in civilian life no doubt that person would be convicted of rape.

2.   And the new law still does not require a person to be convicted of a crime to have property forfeited.

3.   According to state law, a person can be convicted of murder if he or she is present during a crime and does nothing to stop it.

4.   But DNA testing, which is expensive, is often not done, and there is no requirement that evidence be saved once a person is convicted.

5.   If somebody moves in next door and gives you the willies, you can check and see if that person was ever convicted of murder.

6.   LAUSD officials said they have little access to negative information unless a person is convicted of a crime.

8.   The league also has a policy for dealing with charges of violent crimes, whether or not the person is convicted.

9.   Then, if the person is convicted of capital murder, there is a separate punishment phase.
