1.   The Contractors State License Board will let callers know whether contractors have complaints or court judgments against them.

2.   The Parish Council would be grateful if you could confirm that your contractors had no instructions to remove the seat.

3.   The specification of untried or new technology, equipment or techniques has risks and the contractor has to make allowances for any exceptional remedial works which may be necessary.

4.   The main contractor has to plan for subcontracted work just as seriously as for his or her own work.

5.   If the ban is approved, the contractor would have the chance to reapply in two years to be put back on the list.

6.   An initial test seven days later indicated that the contractor had a problem, and a second test two weeks later confirmed that the slabs were not strong enough.

7.   At that time contractors will have to comply or show a good-faith effort to meet the law.
