1.   After recently consulting the Secret Service, the organizing committee decided to establish a wider zone from which vehicles would be prohibited around competition sites and other important buildings.

2.   Competition sites got their first tests over the next two days, and other than the waits at some, no disruptions were reported.

3.   Following the instructions of Danish Olympic officials, she said, she and her teammates left the village only to go to their competition sites.

4.   High-speed Olympic ferries would also ply the Harlem and East rivers to Staten Island, linking competition sites.

5.   In all, eight permanent competition sites were built with private money by Olympic organizers and turned over without charge to local universities and public bodies.

9.   There are no similar problems at the other competition sites.

10.   There will most likely be more fences, checkpoints and intensified screening at entrances to competition sites.
