3.   Brian Williams and Scott Elarton helped keep the game close, combining to pitch four innings of one-hit relief.

4.   Kenny Rogers, Jay Powell, John Rocker, Hideki Irabu and Francisco Cordero combined to pitch a shutout for the Rangers on Friday.

5.   ROBERT PERSON, JERRY DiPOTO and JOHN FRANCO combined to pitch four scoreless innings.
