1.   The mine owners coerced the workers into going back to work, by threatening to close down the mines completely.

2.   But proponents said the bill had provisions for triple damages against employers who coerced workers.

3.   Democrats argued that businesses would use the measure to coerce workers into taking time off in lieu of pay.
