1.   Dark green bristly foliage arranged in dense whorls around slender brittle stems.

2.   In the wild, brittle stems hold the einkorn grains to the plant, making it easier for them to scatter naturally and reseed the fields.

3.   Nelson might snap off the brittle stem if he feels like it, and come spring, new shoots will appear.
