1.   Brush with egg and water mixture, sprinkle with sesame seeds, decorate with blanched almonds.

2.   The chipped ones fetch less at market, and go for products from candy bars to blanched almonds for baking and cooking.

3.   Top with half a blanched almond or walnut.

4.   When I later tried the recipe with blanched almonds, they produced less color and crunch.

5.   You may top this with slice of blanched almond if you wish.
