1.   The backsaw is used to make precise cuts, usually with a miter box or bench hook.

2.   The bottom cleat hooks over the edge of the work bench and holds the bench hook in place.

3.   The bench hook is simply a board with a top and a bottom cleat.

4.   When using a bench hook, hold the work against the back cleat.
