1.   Its blisteringly hot beam has hit missiles on the ground and speeding drones in flight, blowing them up.

2.   Some systems use lenses to widen the beam so that even if the laser moves, the beam will still hit the receiver.

3.   The beam transmitter and receiver can be slightly out of line and still work, but they work best when the beam hits the receiver squarely.
