1.   In congestive heart failure, it is diminished because of low cardiac output and reduced arterial distending pressure.

2.   In the intensive care unit the patient was managed with central venous pressure monitoring and direct arterial pressure monitoring.

3.   Mean arterial pressure was the most important variable to adjust for between the two groups.

4.   Portal hypertension was associated with systemic vasodilation and a hyperkinetic circulatory state, with decreased arterial pressure, and peripheral resistance and increased cardiac output.

5.   All patients had continuous monitoring of arterial pressure and urine output.

6.   Arterial pressure was monitored by sphygmomanometry and heart rate recorded by continuous electrocardiograph monitoring.

7.   A Statham pressure transducer was connected to the arterial catheter and arterial pressure was continuously recorded on a Grass polygraph.

8.   Patients in group B had high pulmonary arterial pressure and pulmonary vascular resistance.

9.   Arterial pressure drops.
